About EON:

In 2004, Jerald Kopp started to form a vision. After reading a Buckmasters article on a life hunt for a disabled young man, the wheels started turning for the avid hunter from Texas. After learning that many wish-granting organizations refused to serve children and youth who sought hunting adventures, due to political and/or liability issues, jumping into the fray was academic. The fact was that not all kids and youth wished to go to Disneyland or meet a current pop star. There was a growing contingent of these individuals who had hunting and the outdoors squarely in their sights for their "wish". Starting a faith-based organization serving this population was soon underway.

How EON works. EON maintains a network of ranches across Texas that generously offer their property for our hunts. EON hunts are offered to disabled and terminally ill children, youth, and young adults. Typically, EON hunts involve one hunter and their family at a time and hunts are 2.5-day slots.

EON hunts are intended to be cost-neutral to participating families. From taxidermy to hunting licenses, travel to lodging, we do everything we can to provide the hunt cost-free. Please contact us for more details.

Through our outings and new relationships, EON seeks to:

be Godly examples. It is our goal and desire that our guests see Christ in us, as well as in the wild spaces we enjoy. Furthermore, we hope to help them know Him more intimately.

A Christian ministry. Okay, that was the secular part. However, first and foremost, the vision for EON involved serving these individuals by not only arranging and expediting hunts, but:

  • being Godly examples. It is our goal and desire that our guests see Christ in us, as well as in the wild spaces we enjoy. Further, we hope that we help them to know Him more intimately.

  • Helping our applicants find and/or build on their relationship with Christ.

but operating as a faith-based ministry. EON serves children, youth, and young adults with special needs through outdoor adventure, largely in the form of hunting for Whitetails and a variety of other game animals. EON ministers to individuals with special needs through outdoor experiences such as hunting and fishing at no cost to the participant or their family. The primary focus of Hope Outdoors is to show Christ’s love for every person we come in contact with, whether it be a participant, a family member or a volunteer, and to share His message of salvation to each of them.

Since 2005, EON has xxxxxxxxxgrown is a 501c3 Non-Profit Ministry, and we rely solely on donations. All donations are tax-deductible.

If you would like to know more about EON, please contact our President, Jerald Kopp at 512-413-5885.

"I cannot even describe just how much of a meaningful hunt our son Jake had with EON. It not only challenged his skills, but the fellowship and love were off the charts. What a blessing."

The vision of EON started in 2005 by one man and a few volunteers. They had, not only a desire to help individuals with disabilities through hunting and the outdoors, but one to share their love for Jesus Christ.
